Friendship Peak is situated in the Beas Kund area of Pir Panjal range at an altitude of 5,300 mt. It is a difficult trekking peak which requires prior trekking experience and good fitness. It’s a semi-technical trek and ideal for people with limited or no mountaineering experience. It is one of the open peaks in Kullu-Manali district where no fee is required to be paid to the IMF. This is the most popular mountain area for foreign tourists also. The surrounding peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Shetidhar,Indra Asan, Seven Sisters and Deo Tibba offers amazing panoramic views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. The mix of Great Himalayan Ranges, Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal is the main highlight of Friendship Peak trek that grabs attention and interest of mountaineers from all over the world. How to reach Prini (Manali), Himachal?
- Kailashrath Base Camp is located in Prini, a quiet village near Manali, and is easily accessible from major cities.
- Trekkers traveling from Delhi or Chandigarh can opt for frequent Volvo bus services available throughout the day and night to Manali. Upon reaching Manali, Prini is just a short drive away.
- From the Manali bus stand, you can hire a local cab or taxi to Prini [4 kms] and reach Kailashrath Base Camp comfortably.

Things to Carry
- Trekking shoes : Carry water proof trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support. Do not carry sports shoes.
- Three layers of warm clothes : Carry a Hard shell jacket, fleece jacket and a down jacket.
- Two/Three trek pants : Carry one quick dry material trek pant for the low altitude and a water repellant mountaineering trouser for the summit.
- Three t-shirts (collared/dri-fit) : Full sleeved t-shirts that prevent sun burns on the neck and arms. Carry one or two dri-fit t-shirts.
- Thermals : Carry thermals (top and bottom).
- Sunglasses : Sunglasses are mandatory due to the excessive snow exposure.
- Cap : At high altitude, the sun is extra harsh so carry a cap to protect yourself.
- Waterproof hand gloves/mittens: Carry waterproof gloves which can act as a mitten too. Carry an additional liner glove to add the warmth.
- Socks (3-4 pairs) and a pair of woollen socks : Apart from two sports socks, you can take a pair of woollen socks for the night.
- Headlamp and Balaclava: These are quite helpful for the summit push which happens in night in cold temperature.
- Raincoat/Ponchos : At high altitudes, snowfall and rain are quite common and it’s mandatory to carry a poncho so that you don’t get wet. The trek will continue as planned even during rainfall.
- Lunch box and water bottle : Every participant should have their personal lunch box and a water bottle [insulated type].
- Toiletries: Keep items like toilet paper, wipes, moisturiser and sunscreen.
- First Aid Kit: Carry items like few basic medicines, few antiseptics and adhesives.

Itinerary
- Report at the Kailashrath Treks base camp by 10 AM and check in to the hotel for a comfortable stay.
- After documentation and verification, take some time to rest and settle in.
- Post Lunch, head out for a short acclimatization walk around the base camp to help your body adjust to the altitude.
- This is followed by a detailed orientation session where the trek leader briefs you about the route, safety measures, gear check, and what to expect in the coming days.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Who can participate ?
Friendship Peak is ideal for those who have a decent level of fitness and a minimum of two Himalayan trek experiences of 4000+ meters altitude. It’s recommended for intermediate trekkers who are comfortable with high-altitude trekking and have a basic understanding of technical climbing skills. You should not have any serious medical issues related to Hypertension, Asthma, Diabetes, breathing problems or any other medical conditions which create difficulties for you while trekking or climbing.
You should prepare yourself before participating in the trek. You should be able to run 10 kms in 50 minutes. If you are with a BMI of 30 and above, you need to get it below 30 before joining the program
