How to reach Rohru village, Himachal?
To reach Rohru from Delhi, first travel to Shimla by bus, car, or flight. Volvo buses and taxis operate daily from Delhi to Shimla, taking about 8–9 hours. From Shimla, Rohru is around 110 km and can be reached in 3–4 hours by local bus or taxi via Theog and Jubbal. The route is scenic but winding, so start early. Direct buses to Rohru from Delhi are rare, so the Shimla transfer is the most convenient option.
Members can opt for pick up facility by Kailashrath Treks. The pick up time will be 11 AM at Rohru bus stand and the charges would be 800 INR.
Things to Carry
- Trekking shoes : Carry water proof trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support. Do not carry sports shoes.
- Three layers of warm clothes : Carry two or three-layer jackets, fleece jackets and a padded jacket.
- Two/Three trek pants : Carry light cotton trek pants. Denim/jeans and shorts are not suitable for trekking.
- Three t-shirts (collared/dri-fit) : Full sleeved t-shirts that prevent sun burns on the neck and arms. Carry one or two dri-fit t-shirts.
- Thermals : Carry thermals (top and bottom).
- Sunglasses : Sunglasses are mandatory. There will be lot of snow on the trek and can cause snow blindness.
- Cap : At high altitude, the sun is extra harsh so carry a cap to protect yourself.
- Water proof hand gloves : Carry water proof gloves and avoid woollen gloves as they will get wet if you touch snow.
- Socks (3-4 pairs) and a pair of woollen socks : Apart from two sports socks, you can take a pair of woollen socks for the night.
- Headlamp/LED torch : Mandatory
- Raincoat/Ponchos : At high altitudes, snowfall and rain are quite common and it’s mandatory to carry a poncho so that you don’t get wet. The trek will continue as planned even during rainfall.
- Lunch box and water bottle : Every participant should have their personal lunch box and a water bottle [insulated type].
- Toiletries: Keep items like toilet paper, wipes, moisturiser and sunscreen.
- First Aid Kit: Carry items like few basic medicines, few antiseptics and adhesives.

Itinerary
- Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Rohru to the remote Himalayan village of Janglik.
- The journey takes you through dense forests, apple orchards, and traditional Himachali settlements, offering a glimpse into local mountain life. As you approach Janglik, the landscape opens into terraced fields and charming wooden houses.
- Upon arrival, you settle in, meet your trek leaders, and attend a briefing about the route and safety protocols.
- The evening is kept relaxed to help you acclimatize to the altitude and prepare for the trek ahead.
Mandatory Documents
✔️ Medical Certificate should be signed by a registered MBBS doctor and should have the seal of the doctor.
✔️ Original and photocopy of Aadhar card required. In case of Foreign Nationals Passport and Visa would be required.
✔️ NOC form with participant signature.

NOTE :Carry the above mentioned medicines with you, such that it’s easily accessible at all times. Take medicines only after consulting your trek leaders.
Who can participate ?
Anyone who is above 16 years of age with a good physical strength and stamina can participate in the event. Participants should not have any medical issues like Hypertension, Asthma, Diabetes or breathing problems.
Participants should prepare themselves before participating in the trek such that they are able to jog/brisk walk 5 kms in 40 minutes. Participants with a BMI of 30 and above need to get it below 30 before joining the trek.
Preparation :
Strong physical fitness is a must for any Himalayan Treks. Whenever one is undertaking activities like High Altitude Trekking, make sure that you are preparing yourself for the trek in terms of Aerobic fitness, muscle strength and breathing rhythm.
