Hanuman Tibba at 5,982 meters stands as the highest peak of Dhauladhar range in Himachal Pradesh. The place is religious and is related to the Hindu Deity Hanuman for the saffron coloured rock on its top. The trek starts from Solang village and goes via Taintu Gully. The trek demands that the members are aware of the basic mountaineering skills.
By Bus/taxi: Take a bus headed towards Manali from Delhi/Chandigarh and get down at Patlikuahal stop(20 km before Manali) and take a taxi to Rumsu. Taxi charges are Rs 500-700 per vehicle (7 seater)
✔️Trekking shoes : Carry water proof trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support. Do not carry sports shoes.

All the participants will have to report by 8 AM to Rumsu base camp. We will start the day with our entire back packing of all the stay gear, utensils, rations, adventure gear and medical kit.
Participants will have to make sure that they do not leave any of their essential item required. Rest of the day can be used for acclimatization via a short trek to Chi Chogi village.
Overnight stay at Rumsu base camp(2050 m)
Start early with a jeep ride to Solang village. We willl commence the trek by 7 AM from Solang for Dhundi. The initial part of the trek till Dhundhi is via road. We will have our packed lunch at Dhundhi. The later part of the trek has a moderate ascend and goes through forest of Pine and Oak trees. The forest then leads to Bakerthach. Overnight stay in tents at Bakerthach.
We will start the day early from Bakerthach for Beas Kund. The trek has a moderate ascend. The panoramic views of the Shitidhar, Hanuman Tibba, Friendship and Manali peaks from Beas Kund is quite mesmerizing. It is believed that the Kund is source of Beas river.
Overnight stay in tents at Beas Kund.
After breakfast, we will trek to the Bakerthach Glacier and practice cramponing. The leaders will also conduct few drills to make everyone aware of the safety and rescue scenarios.
The ABC is set on the way to Taintu gully almost at midway of it. The route involves steep climb till 70 degrees of gradient. Rope will be fixed on the way.
Participants will start the climb with all their equipment and stay gear to ABC. It takes around five hours to reach ABC. Overnight stay at ABC.
The entire team will start the trek for Camp 1 with rest of the load ferry of personal items. Once we reach Camp 1, the rest of the day can be used for further height gaining and acclimatization. Overnight at Camp 1.
The team will continue to Summit Camp, with minimum of equipments and ration for the summit attempt. Overnight at Summit camp.
Being the summit day, we will start our trek by 1 AM for Hanuman Tibba (5,990 meters). It takes around 6 hours to reach summit. Once the summit is done we will head down to Camp 1 and do overnight stay.
We will descend via the same Taintu gully and directly reach Beas Kund skipping ABC. Overnight at Beas Kund
We will directly descend from Beas Kund base to Dhundhi. The descend takes around 6 to 7 hours. Ride back to Rumsu base camp. Overnight at Rumsu camp.
Nope. The expedition is only recommended for experienced climbers
Hanuman Tibba Expedition takes minimum of 13 days. Keep a couple of days extra in the start for better acclimatisation.
The best time for the expedition is June and September month.
The true summit of the peak lies at 19,625 feet.
The average temperature in the daytime will be 12°C to 18°C and in night it could be -10°C to 4°C.
Hanuman Tibba at 5982 Meters presents a substantial level of challenge to all the climbers attempting it. Its always recommended to prepare well before going the expedition.
Stick to an hour training session at least a month before the expedition. Indulge in cardio based exercises and muscle strengthening.
There is no mobile connectivity in the trek except for the first day in Manali.
