I went for this trek between May 26th to 30th and here is my feedback:
– Bhrigu lake trek was good. The path/trek/trail was great. Enjoyed the beauty and the climb.
– Food served was good. No complaints there.
– Tent accommodation and all was good

However, here are few aspects which the organizers need to take care of:
– We had booked for Chandrakhani. But when we reached there, it was informed that it’s changed to Bhrigu as there was less snow at Chandrakhani. We were ok with it as we were regular trekkers. But consider this aspect that there were few who booked for ‘Chandrakhani’ only because it was an easy trek. They were first time trekkers. And moving from ‘easy’ trek to ‘moderate’ trek isn’t a good idea. The organizer/Pushkar informed that it was an unanimous decision. But as per me, the organizer should never change the treks this way. They might feel the participants will “manage”, but it will be hard on them. Few in our group had tough time reaching the first camp at Raoli Kholi itself. Remember, many will be first time trekkers and they will not be in a good position to even consider what they will be going through or what to expect, when you come and tell them the route is changed.
– The guides, Rommie & Tinku are good trekkers and might have good experience climbing etc but they are not good leaders. They absolutely didn’t know how to take a group, including fast and slow trekker, as a unit. They didn’t know how to motivate and make it easy on the slow trekkers who started doubting their capabilities. What was shocking was, they were getting frustrated with many things and yelling at people like if someone fumbles, slips or something. Few of us had to intervene and say it on their face about mending their ways. One taxi driver didn’t drop the candidates at the Gulaba post due to which Rommie suggested those people to take one more taxi from check-post. And when they reached, he was asking them to pay for taxi which of course was his responsibility. You cannot expect this kind of miscommunication. I had to argue and make him pay for it.
– Nobody should be allowed to burst fire crackers/rockets upon reaching camps or peaks. I was shocked when the guides allowed few people to “enjoy” by bursting crackers in that peaceful environment. Remember, we all have responsibility in keeping our nature as is.

If the guides are guided properly and trained, they will surely be good. They need to motivate people when they find it tough, they need to make the climb little easier and fun if possible.

I’ve been with other organizations many times at Himalayas, so I’m sure I’m in better position to compare and say what was good and what needs improvements.

Why is an honest feedback being deleted from this section?

I had mentioned about good things and about areas which need improvement.

You need to have some good sense to take it on the chin and accept it!

Remember, there are other ways to send out the feedback in social media!
