Patalsu peak is one of the most famous peak in Manali valley which even beginners can attempt. The trek starts from the famous Solang Valley. The level of trek is moderate as it involves a steep ascend from Solang valley. However its worth because of the mesmerising views one gets from the top.

Day 1

New Delhi to Manali

All the participants will have to report by 5 PM at R K Ashram marg Metro station. Overnight bus journey for Manali.

Day 2

Reporting at Manali and drive to Solang Valley.

We will start the day with a jeep ride to Solang Valley(35 kms). Freshening up and breakfast/lunch will happen at the base camp. Post breakfast/lunch orientation, registration and acclimatization walk. Orientation will cover all the general instructions that could be helpful for the trek like back packing, marching technique and medical awareness. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 3

Solang to Shagadugh

We will start the trek from Solang to Shagadugh. The trek has a moderate ascend and goes through some dense forest of Pine and Oak trees. The dense forest then leads to an open large meadow which is known as Shagadugh. Overnight stay in tents at Shagadugh.
Day 4

Trek to Patalsu Peak

We will start the day early from Shagadugh for Patalsu peak. The trek has a steep ascend for the peak. The panoramic views of the Shitidhar, Friendship and Manali peaks from the peak is quite mesmerizing. We will then start our descend to Shagadugh camp. Overnight stay in tents at Shagadugh.
Day 5

Descend to Solang Valley and departure

Post breakfast we will start the descend for Solang Valley from Shagadugh camp. Jeep ride from Solang valley to Manali. Departure from Manali by 5 PM.
Day 6

Arrival at New Delhi.

Arrival at New Delhi by 8 AM.

THING TO CARRY

PREPARATION AND INSTRUCTION :

  • Start doing Cardio exercises if you wish to do treks.
  • Separate stay for male and female.
    Smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited.
    Buying drugs or any illegal material is strictly prohibited, the participant will be detained and handed over to government authority.
    Instructions from Guide should be strictly followed.
  • Note :Participants need to bring the medical certificate from a certified doctor for any respiratory disease and blood pressure.
  • Medical certificate is available at our website home page.

What should I wear during trek?
Full sleeves quick dry t-shirts and full trousers are recommended during the trek. A cap, sun glass and water proof jackets are optional as par the weather.

What is the reporting and drop point?
Participants have to report and Kashmere gate/RK Ashram marg. Once the trek is over participants have to board the bus from Manali by 5 PM and drop will be at Kashmere gate, Delhi.

What kind temperature we will experience?
During the daytime temperature is within 15 to 20 degree Celsius while in night it drops to 0 to -5 degree Celsius.

How is the food?
Kailashrath offers a healthy and nutritious vegetarian diet which is recommended for high altitude treks. Jain food will also be available. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner is included in the package.

What kind of tents we will get to stay?
Participants will get either dome tent or alpine tent on triple sharing basis.

Are there separate tents for boys and girls?
Yes, there are separate tents for boys and girls.

What about charging facility during the trek?
During the trek there won’t be any charging facility available. Participants can charge their electronic only at the base camp on Day 1.

Do I need to bring any trekking gear along with?
Gears like tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, plate and mug will be provided at the base camp to all the participants. Gears like all personal clothing, trekking shoes and pole have to be brought by participants. However, trekking poles are not that compulsory for the trek.

What do i need to carry during the trek?
Check “Things to Carry” list.

Is rucksack compulsory?
Yes, rucksack is compulsory. We’ll provide it but it’s better to bring your own rucksack.

Can extra luggage can be deposited at base camp?
Yes, the entire extra luggage (which is not required for the trek) can be deposited at the base camp.

Is it required to bring any ID proof during the trek?
Yes, ID proof is essential for the trek. Only Aadhar card/ Voter ID Card/ Driving License/Passport will be accepted.

Are we going to get network during the trek?
Mobile network will be available during the trek.

What are the risks involved in the trek?
It is an moderate level trek and there are very limited/no risk scenarios involved in the trek.

What are the safety measures taken?
Guides who accompany the group members are certified from government mountaineering institutes and are expert in handling scenarios like medical issues or physical injuries. A first aid medical kit and rescue kit is always available with the guide.

 Is Medical Certificate mandatory?
Yes, medical certificate is mandatory to participate in any trek.

Do I need to carry any first aid along with me?
The guides carry a first aid medical kit, oxygen cylinder and all high altitude mountain medicines required for the trek. If there is any personal medication, make sure that you are carrying medicines for it and the guide should be aware of it.

What kind of washroom facilities is available during the trek?
During the trek toilet tents will be pitched separately for boys and girls.

What about drinking water during the trek and at campsites?
Natural water sources like stream are used for drinking at campsites. It is very safe to drink the water.

Can i carry my DSLR?
Yes, one can carry his/her DSLR camera provided you take care of it against rain and shock.

Is trekking shoes compulsory?
Yes, trekking shoes are compulsory. A good trekking shoe should have an ankle support, good grip and water proof. In case if you are buying a new pair of shoes, make sure you are using it at least 15 days prior to the event.

Is liquor allowed in the trek?
No, liquor is strictly prohibited in the trek. Strict disciplinary actions will be taken if anyone is found with the possession of alcohol.

Is smoking allowed in the trek?
No, smoking is not allowed during the trek.

How is the level of the trek?
The level of trek is easy. The entire trek comes under the tree line. The maximum height of the trek is 12,000 feet.

How should i prepare myself for the trek?
One should do cardio related exercise like running, swimming or cycling for at least 40 minutes for 15 days prior to the event.

Is it recommended for the first timers?
Yes, the trek is recommended for the first timers also.

PAYMENT PROCEDURE :
One has to pay 50% through our website : Booking or via payment link generated by our booking team.
Rest 50% you have to pay when you arrive at the base camp.

CANCELLATION POLICY :
If for any reason one wishes to cancel his/her trek, an email intimation needs to be sent to kailashrathtreks@gmail.com
Cancellation requests will not be taken over phone. However, one can phone to check whether the cancellation has been processed.

The cancellation charges are as under:

·        Cancellation before 10 days – Rs 2000 + Train and bus tickets cancellation charge(if included)
·        Cancellation within 10 days – NO REFUND
