Kedarkantha is a wonderful trek, with pretty campsites and stunning 360-degree views of mountain summits. You will come across snow around 10,000 ft, lying on the forest floor among the pine trees.
The route to Sankri is one of the most beautiful drives in the Indian Himalayas. The temperature in Kedarkantha trek during the day will be at around 8-12 degrees and at night, the temperature will drop to -5 to -7 degrees.

The trek commences at 4 AM with head torches at a slow moving pace towards the summit. Participants need not carry their complete backpack for the trek but only lunch and water bottle. They can leave the backpack at the camp itself as after the summit they will descend via the camp.
The way light comes and what happens in the sky is amazing, a variety of colours you will see in the sky. The summit offers some of the most spectacular views of Yamunotri and Gangotri Ranges. At summit we will spend some time and return back to Hargaon campsite via Kedarkantha base camp.
The last day of the trek is easy with snow slopes to descend. It usually takes around 4 hours to descend from Hargaon to Sankri. Participants can go to Dehradun today. Cabs are frequently available for Dehradun from Sankri.

Super trek we had, with Kailash rath,it’s the people employed by the company that makes a brand out of it,Shillu n Romil ,highly recommended trek leaders we had, food n safety was really taken care of,they were strict but we realised that we were at mercy of nature,n they were just trying to help us ...
Very professional people. Guides are experienced and mature. Took correct decisions in tough scenarios.
Very nice trek(Hampta pass chandratal lake). Mentors /guides are extremely supportive and know what to do when perfectly. We should just blindly trust them and move ahead.
Had an amazing experience with kailashrath, though i had booked for hampta pass it was cancelled on the 2nd day itself due to bad weather and government restrictions. We completed Chandrekhani pass and Chandra taal which was full of excitement on everyday. Our trek leaders Shilu hallani and Romil thakur were always cheerful and supporting even in such bad weather(rainfall, road block, land sides). Raghav, i dont know what position you hold in kailashrath, but you were always there when needed. Thanks Kailash rath for such a wonderful experience.
Best treakking experience ever... kailashrath provides excellent food quality ... there are 3-4 guides helps alot.. overall great experience with kailashrath.
Hampta Pass and Chandratal : 24th June 2018 ::
If anyone wanting to escape the dusty, smoke filled monotony of urban life n wanna b wid nature then ul find Hampta pass trek very appealing. A trek full of adventure. The pass is just breathtaking, made me realise that saying words like awesome and fantastic as casualy as I do is a waste. It felt like a dream. After one day of trekking you will be breathing the fresh air of the Himalayas under the clear starry night.
On the very first day of the trek the unbounded beauty of the Himalayas hit us and over the next 4 days it only got better. As you progress through the trek the temperature, weather, pressure and oxygen levels change and you can feel it because of the changing vegetation and wildlife. On the first day I could actly feel the weight of my rucksack, but by the third day I was running and jumping around, climbing rocks one after the other.. In heavy rain n storm.
The trek requires a good will power and surely rewards you for your effort. Trekking up the Hampta pass and then descending down is a daunting experience and is full of thrill. The last two of the trek, we have experienced heavy rainfall n completing the trek was getting challenging in every step. But the sense of achievement that we all felt at the end of the trek was nothing less than winning a battle.
Even after coming back to the city I miss the sound of silence in the valley with the streams trickling down beside my tent, the passage of the wind through the valley and the sound of rain drizzling down on the tent.
@Kailashrath:: When we thought of going for hampta pass trek, we have checked several trekking organisations.. Saw the reviews n feedbacks, lastly we finalized to go wid Kailash Rath. And not for a moment we were disappointed or regretted. We started our Trek on 24th June with acclimatisation walk at Rumsu, and trek started from 25th, our first campsite was at Chikka followed by Balu ka Ghera, Shia Goru, Chhatru and Chandratal.
Our Trek Leads were Dipak, Dhoni and Shilu Hallani. They were so friendly that it was always a fun to be around them. No matter how bad the weather was or how difficult the terrain, everytime they will be around you to help you, guide you, support you. You will also be very motivated by just seeing them. From crossing an icy cold stream, to walking on snow glaciers.. They were always with you. A Big Thank You to them, though it is not enough as compared to what they have done for us.
However, we were not only lucky to have amazing trek leads but we got a chance to meet equally friendly and caring camp leads, special mention SoNu Thakur at Shia Goru, Varun at Balu ka Ghera, also the trek leads at Chikka and Chhatru (apologise for not remembering the names).
Kailashrath must be proud of such trek and camp leads. Because of them we all have successfully and safely completed the trek. Cheers to them
Hey pals, this is my first trek with "Kailash Rath" for Hampta Pass & Chandratal Lake, my friend went though the FB and decided to go for the trek, we didn't have any difficulty trusting Kailash rath team after going through heartfelt reviews from many first timers and veterans, The trek was very well planned and executed, they have apt infrastructure and supporting staff to help each individual in all the ways they can, our experience was mind blowing, i wish to mention few trek leaders (Monu, Kaku, Rajineesh) and camp leaders (Varun sharma) names who were simply superb. they provide nutritious food (unlimited) which is most essential during trek.
we thoroughly enjoy the trek, if you wish to go for a trek, i strongly suggest Kailash Rath, happy trekking!
Awesome experience with Kailashrath!! Trek leaders(Racy and Sunil ji) were the best ?? Camp leaders help us a lot by taking care of us when we are in any bad situation, that's the best part ?? One more incident to add... I forgot my bag which contains trek shoes and other dresses in a local bus near Kasol. I thought I've lost it and that's totally my fault as I wasn't taking care of my luggage but Kailashrath team came together to help me and they were very concerned about me, somehow managed to get my bag before the trek starts ?? That's how their team is... each one of us are equally important to them ?Had a memorable time with my entire trek batch ❤️ #Sarpass2018 ✌?Cheers to entire team of Kailashrath ??
This is my second year with "Kailash Rath". First year was Hampta Pass and Chandratal Lake summit and Second year was Sarpass summit. I don't know from where do I start.
Starting from Pushkar sir who inspired us before trek so that we can reach the summit successfully. Starting from the time we entered the base camp, got a warm welcome by Bushra mam (Friends thought we entering into Roadies :p ), Bhumi, and Karan. The base camp is located beautifully in the middle of greenery. Next 6 days of trek were full of enthusiasm and adventure surrounded with nature which you cannot express in few words. We got the Best quality food(obviously don't expect 5 star food facility but it was not less than 5 Star food on mountains- hats off to people who get the food for us on 13800mts), best of the camp leaders, trek leaders and local guides who supported us till the end. That amazing view of mountains, Scenic beauty of nature was fantastic, The borne fire in the chilling weather every night with bournvita and games which made bonding between everyone strong. Friends who were unknown to us in the start of trek became family as and when day passed by. It was fun, thrilling, adventurous, best trip.
Wanted to also mention few names without thanking them I can't complete this post:
Mr. Rimpurk and Meghna mam - Our Trek leaders for whole trek who supported us and made this happen successfully.
Ms. Poorvi and Mr. Shadab - Grahan Base camp- You guys nailed it with Rimpurk sir and Meghna mam with that Leg Game and cheered us all up.
Mr. Rajat and Mr. Rebbar- Mung Thach - For the support we needed the most.
Mr. Dhaval- Inspiring and Motivating everyone- full of energy.
Mr. Nishant- Biskeri - Never thought a person could inspire by his story. Hats off to you. Best and friendly person we met.
Mr. Atmaram- The best local guide we saw. He might be more than 50 years of age. Climbed with us from Mung Thach to Nagaru with full of fun, dance, entertaintment. He was the inspiration for all of us.
Thanking all others who were with us during trek journey.
Also want to thank Last year Trek leaders Mr. Baljeet and Mr. Jog Raj who were the best to support us for Hampta Pass.
Thanking every one from Kailash Rath team for giving such a beautiful experience.
Awaited to come for the treks in upcoming year.
This was my Himalayan trek and an experience will never forget in my life. The staff, the people around you are so dedicated & hardworking making the trek a successful one.Good effort from the trek leader to push all of us to reach next level. Would definitely suggest all my friends and family to trek with Kailashrath ?
Did Hampta pass with Chandratal trek. Hospitality and food is good. Worth the price paid for. Trek leader Rajnish could have been more warm and enthusiastic to mingle with the trekkers. He didn't let us have campfire for no good reason. It felt more like military session than fun. No group activities in the basecamps. Coming to tents at balu ka ghera, the tents weren't maintained well. At Chatru tents were getting filled with rain water. There were two groups of 30 each are clubbed together over there. Looks like they have permit for 30 people and they organize trek for 65 people which seems to be a sham. Gaiters weren't provided due to which while descending hampta we got drenched and shoes got wet. The bags dont essentially resist rain. All these are manageable and has to be experienced during trek. But, some group activities are required in basecamps.
Managment was Amazing.. Food Was Very Good.. Guides were excellently familiar with the Mountains..Kailashrath will always be my first choice! #HamptaPassTrek2018
I would like to thanks to kailash Rath and team for the great work everything was good it was superb experience. I just want to give you one suggestion and that is, please provide 3 days of acclimatization so that people get acclimatize easily as well as people develop their strong relationships with each other. And during these days you can teach them about trekking because most of the people were freshers. In these 3 days you can teach them everything about trekking ; like how to walk, how to climb, how to take rest etc.... As well as people can do ice-breaking with others so can develop more strong relationships.
Otherwise everything was superb
Thanks kailash rath for this amazing experience of my life.no words to explain...excellent plan well executed.overwhelmed with service and support.u guys serve food all day...we have to say please stop feeding us like babies.team managers and guides were so supportive and caring they took care of everyone at every step.especially thanks to Vaibhav and Pushkar to make me trust on u and Nishant, Amar,Romil,Rajneesh,Karan,Bhavani sir for their kind support and arrangement and encouragement .

No doubt it was an awesome experience never felt before.
I don't know from where to start the best 8 days of my life with Kailash Rath for Sar Pass Trek from 19th to 26th May 2018. Trek: Sarpass.
A huge thanks to Kailashrath for helping me make my first trekking adventure a success. Each and every staff member is kind and co-operative. The taste and quality of food offered even at high altitudes is highly appreciated. Further, treks are very well planned considering the time and difficulty involved.
Cheers!!!
I did Sar Pass Trek with Kailash Rath 14- 19 May 2018. Having done 3 Himalayan treks with 3 groups, I assess Kailash Rath as Average.
Food - At the base camp and the second camp food was good. Other camps below average. They gave us Chapathi and just pickle (no subjis) for lunch almost all days which most of us felt as awful.
Equipments - good quality sleeping bags and tent. Backpack rented to us rather heavy.
Toilets - Base camp - good, awful in some of the camps.
Personnel - Mostly good. We had a guide named Shilu who is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The camp leader at the second camp was an awful tyrant who treated us like a kindergarten students ( Never go out of the fencing without accompanied by a babysitter!!!).
On the whole I rate them as AVERAGE.
First of all, I would like to thank each and everyone involved in organizing a wonderful trek to Sar pass. The trek leaders, camp leaders, they are doing fabulous work. Special mention for the people who cook food and keep things ready for trekkers at the Naggaru campsite (12500 feet and chilling weather), they are just superb.
The overall experience was amazing and I would be looking forward for more treks with KailashRath.
Programme: Sar Pass
