Accommodation and Meals

Smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited on the trek and at the base camp.

Yes, there will be separate toilet tents for males and females.

We use a well planned menu suitable for high altitude treks. The meals will be pure veg and Jain food option is also available.
Breakfast varies from Aaloo/gobi paratha, puri with sabzi to oats, semia to bread and butter  and tea/milk. Lunch mainly comprises of roti with sabzi, rice, dal, papad, salad. Dinner is complete with Dal, rice, roti/puri and dessert. Snacks like biscuits, maggie, pakode, soup etc will be provided as well.

Yes, the stay in tents will be separate for males and females.

Water source is natural streams, rivers and water springs in the mountains and it is safe to drink.

Tents will be shared by 3 people.

No, there is no provision for bath at the camps on the trek.
Indian/western toilet and hot/cold water bath facility is available at the Rumsu base camp.

Payment

It is not necessary to have a printed copy. However, we require that you show ID matching your booking and also the Order # that is immediately emailed to you after you make your reservation.

No, we do not charge any extra fees, no hidden cost. The listed price is the price you pay. Including tax.

Preparation

A good trekking shoe, raincoat and one pair of thermal inner-wear are necessary items for any trek.

Woolen clothes/Woolen cap/Jackets/Wind-cheater.
Socks(3-4 pairs)
Thermal wear(1-2 pairs)
Trekking shoes(should have ankle support, good grip and water proof)
Snow gloves/normal gloves.
Sun glasses/goggles.
Lunch box, water bottle, spoon.
Personal medication.
Raincoat.
Torch and batteries.
Rucksack bag

Wear whatever is comfortable. It is recommended to have warm clothing, trekking boots, gloves, jacket,sunscreen. It is preferable to dress in layers and wear clothing that will wick away perspiration and keep you dry and comfortable.

Sports shoes are not recommended for Himalayan treks- you need a shoe with a good grip and high ankle support. Have a pair of comfortable trekking shoes with good grip. If you are buying a pair of trekking shoes, make sure you wear and walk around in it before you come on the trek!

Kailashrath will carry sleeping bags, liners, mats, tents and other equipment. You need to carry your personal gear and clothing.

Reservation

If for any reason one wishes to cancel his/her trek, an email intimation needs to be sent to kailashrathtreks@gmail.com
Cancellation requests will not be taken over phone. However, one can call to check whether the cancellation has been processed.

The cancellation charges are as under:

·        Cancellation before 14 days Р2000 INR + ticket cancellation charges(if travel is included)

Note: All cancellation refunds will be processed back to the bank account or the credit card account from which the trek fee has been paid. A processing charge of 2% of the trek fee will be applicable on all refunds.

Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all treks. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and they allow us to notify you of changes to the trek due to weather or anything that could create problem.

Travel

  • Reach Chandigarh/New Delhi via train or flight.
  • Board bus from ISBT (Sector – 43, Chandigarh) or ISBT- Kashmiri gate New Delhi for Manali. You can book your tickets from¬†www.hrtc.gov.in¬†or¬†www.redbus.com
  • Get down at Patlikuhal which is 26 km after Kullu and 20 km before Manali.
  • Take a share cab/auto/local buses to reach¬†Rumsu from Patlikuhal (9 km).

Weather

We do trek in the rain, snow, wind and any other weather conditions that nature decides to throw at us. After all, we’re going on adventures! If the weather is unsafe for any reason, the trip will be changed or postponed. You will be notified the week of your trip if there are changes due to weather.

During the day time temperature will be around 12-15 C and night times will fall as low as 0¬į to -4¬įC.
