1) Lot of snow along with Grassy slopes & Scree.
Trek route is covered with lot of snow in the month of June and early of July, providing one with a good experience in walking in snow covered Himalayas. Second campsite itself is surrounded by snow in early June and walking on snow is thrilling.
2) Gateway to Spiti Valley
Trek route starts from the green valley of Hamta and then after crossing Hamta pass one enters the Spiti valley of Himalayas. It is similar in terrain to Leh ladakh.
3) River crossing at two places
Hampta pass is famous for its stream crossing experience. There are many stream crossings on the way, most of which are easy and can be done by hopping over rocks, but 2 of them are going to take more of you effort because you have to cross them barefoot.
4) Amazing riverside campsites
Shiagoru is a well- known camping destination for trekking enthusiasts. Scenic mountains, snowy landscapes, striking streams and rippling rivers make this location a much-treasured pathway.
5) Challenging Ascend
Moderate climb and followed by steep uphill trek accounts for the most incredible journey during the 4-day trek. Snow can be found during this course of the journey and the trekker has to cross Hampta Pass, at 4,280 mt.
6) Challenging Descend
Downhills are more difficult than uphills. Walk this part with extra caution because of the loose sand and small rocks scattered on this trail, which can get slippery.
7) Offroading in Himalayas
The roads are narrow, winding and are flooded by waterfalls on many spots. Most areas are full of boulders and many of them often rolled on to the road which could delay the journey.
Chandratal Lake got its name because of its half-moon-like shape. Its turquoise color water and the surrounding landscape attract thousands of tourists each year. Chandratal lake is an absolute must-visit when in Spiti.
Rohtang Pass is the ultimate and essential attraction of the journey. Located at a distance of just 51 kilometres from the Manali town, Rohtang Pass can be reached only by road. The pass is located at a massive height of 3900 metres, the way up the hills is a treat to the eyes.
